STIRS and ForBio course: Lichen ecology & identification (Part 2)

This course is arranged by the Swedish Taxonomy Initiative (STI) and the Research School In Biosystematics (ForBio), and is given at Ekenäs mansion (58°57'06.96''N, 16°35'32.88''E) ca 100 km SW of Stockholm.

The course will cover field knowledge of common and characteristic lichen species of different habitats in Sweden, understanding of important aspects related to lichens and nature conservation, lichen identification using microscopical examination in the laboratory, and basic understanding of advanced techniques in lichen identification including analysis of chemical compounds by TLC.

There is no course fee and lodging and food for all participants is funded by ”Stiftelsen Oscar och Lilli Lamms minne”. All participants will have to cover their own travel costs.
